Trali-Vali

Trali-Vali take a Russian song and an English one with a similar tune or theme and stitch them together, so a familiar hit suddenly turns up with a Slavic twist. Guitar, balalaika, keyboard and percussion carry it all, across disco, country, folk, pop and rock 'n' roll. Rasputin, Down Under, Putting on the Ritz, Those Were the Days, Mambo No. 5, Bad Romance and Highway to Hell all get the treatment, along with songs from their Irish and Russian Baba Yaga project. They have their own MC and can run a whole dance party. Street festivals, cultural events and weddings with a Slavic side are their home ground. They need five microphones with stands, a keyboard input and two guitar inputs. Home is Mordialloc in Melbourne, and the band carries public liability cover for bookings within 100 km.
