The Dawn Birds is a folk band based in Adelaide, SA.
Three people, a lot of instruments. The Dawn Birds pass accordion, banjo, baritone guitar and bass clarinet between them, and sing three-part harmony over the top, so the trio sounds far bigger than it looks. Cameron Goodall, Quincy Grant and Gareth Chin play covers of folk, blues and country, from Sam Cooke and Hank Williams to Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Neil Young. You pick the mix. Anything on their lists can be requested, so a night might run from You Send Me and Beyond the Sea through to La Bamba, Folsom Prison Blues and Bye Bye Love. They can sit sweetly in the background or switch to dancing and singalongs, over one set or two. The Adelaide band started in 2026. They bring their own PA, or need four mics and three DIs through yours. Insured, travels up to 100 km.
