Tarren

Four voices, often with nothing else behind them. Tarren are a vocal quartet from Wollongong who sing a cappella or add guitar, recorder and percussion, and their harmonies sit at the choral end of folk and pop. The Celtic material has a Welsh focus, and it shares the night with traditional songs, a few instrumental jigs, and covers of Dylan, The Seekers and The Beatles plus 70s and 80s tunes. It's mostly acoustic, so conversation carries on around it. Set-up is light: a couple of microphones if the venue has them, otherwise just a power point for the bass amp. Public liability cover is in place, and Tarren will go as far as 200 km.
