Lauren Butler is a folk singer based in Cairns, QLD.
Kids first or the whole crowd, Lauren Butler plays it two ways. On her own she runs a 45-minute children's set of singalongs and movement songs, from Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and Shake Your Sillies Out to Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree and Baby Shark. For all-ages gigs she brings in banjo or slide guitar, or fiddle, and the country, folk and bluegrass sound gets bigger again as a trio with harmonies. A duo can play up to three 45-minute sets. Markets, libraries, schools, pubs and festivals all fit. For kids, set out mats or rugs in a flat 3 by 3 metre space with a small table and chair, and allow about 15 minutes to set up. Band gigs need an hour and power. Outdoors, she'll need shade. Home is Cairns, with a 50 km travel radius.
