Dave Mason

One acoustic guitar and a looper make up the whole rig for Dave Mason. The looper lays down rhythm on many songs, which frees him up to take lead breaks, so a solo set has more movement in it than you'd expect. He pitches the music to the audience, from quiet background while people dine through to singalongs and a bit of dancing. The covers take in blues, folk and pop, old and newer: Jack Johnson, The Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Oasis and The Doobie Brothers, plus blues both old and new, Lloyd Spiegel on one side and Stormy Monday on the other. He mixes in some originals as well, and there's friendly chat with the crowd along the way. Setup is simple. He needs one power point for his audio gear, and he's happiest on a bar stool.
