The Singing Waiters is an a cappella group based in Melbourne, VIC.
For most of the dinner, nobody suspects a thing. The Singing Waiters dress like the rest of the floor staff, greet your guests and help serve food and drinks. Slowly the service goes a bit strange: one waiter gets clumsy, another flirty, and one seems to have had a few. When the plates are cleared, a waiter grabs the microphone with bad news: the band is a no-show. Not to worry, he says, a few of the staff can sing. Four of them step up and start singing a cappella, voices only, with close harmonies, comedy and some deliberately awful choreography. The songs run from the 50s to the 90s, so all ages get something. The Melbourne group does weddings, corporate events, themed nights and private functions.
