Terraplane and the Hudson Horns

Harmonica out front and horns behind it. Terraplane have been playing blues in Hobart since around 1990, and adding The Hudson Horns gave them a bigger, brassier sound with trumpet and tenor sax. The full line-up is vocals and harmonica, guitar, bass, drums and the two horns. The songs, covers and originals, move from Chicago blues to the swing of Texas and West Coast styles, drawing on Paul Butterfield, Sonny Boy Williamson and Taj Mahal, with newer material from Carlos Del Junco and Jason Ricci and a little Tom Waits. Now and then they drift into jazz, funk or a ballad. Smaller rooms can have a four-piece instead, playing traditional Chicago blues. It's a sound made for a pub, a bar or a party that wants to move. They travel up to 200 km.
