James Pattugalan

Swing one night, salsa the next, then hip hop soul after that. James Pattugalan is a drummer and percussionist from Byron Bay who covers a wide spread of styles: funk, big band, contemporary R&B, jazz, soul blues, salsa, African rhythms and easy listening. He studied at the Canberra School of Music and holds a Diploma in Jazz Studies, and that training shows in a tight, deep groove. He's a handy call for a band that needs a drummer, for session work, or for a cultural event where authentic percussion matters. He also plays concerts, festivals, corporate events and smaller venues.
