Havana is a Latin band based in Brisbane, QLD.
A conga line is never far away when Havana play. The Brisbane band builds a carnival party from Latin Caribbean rhythms, cha-cha, rumba, mambo and salsa, then adds Colombian cumbia, merengue and a classic Argentine tango. Arranger and composer Dimi keeps the old styles in the set but updates them with fresher grooves. The instruments are guitar, keys, Latin percussion, saxophone, trumpet and vocals. Choose a three-piece with a female vocalist, percussion, guitar and trumpet; a five-piece with two female singers and saxophone added; or a six-piece that brings in a dancer. Extra dancers are optional, and the band can also go mobile as a roving party act. Themed nights, weddings, private parties and work functions are all a good match.
