Ah Hum is a Latin band based in Adelaide, SA.
Mambo, rumba and cha cha cha: Ah Hum play Afro-Cuban dance music, and the point is to get your guests out of their chairs. The Adelaide group is ten musicians strong, with players from Chile, Japan, Bolivia, Colombia and Australia. Horns and percussion drive it, with saxophone, piano and bass alongside. Bassist Chi Thapa comes from Nepal, and pianist Brendan Fitzgerald also works as a music producer. The repertoire draws on Tito Puente, the Afro-Cuban All Stars, Mongo Santamaria and Poncho Sanchez, with a few original tunes mixed in, and guest musicians and dancers can join the show. Book them for a wedding, a private party, a work function or a venue night.
