Gotham City Horns is a jazz big band based in Sydney, NSW.
Gotham City Horns can change shape as the night goes on. Early on it might be solo piano, a singer with piano, or a jazz trio or funk quintet, before the full nine-piece takes over with drums, bass, guitar and keys, a male and a female lead vocalist, and a three-piece horn section. It's a funk and soul band at heart that also covers rock, retro, ballroom and big band, and the presentation can match a theme, from Prohibition and Carnival to Star Wars and Batman. For awards nights and presentations they play live play-ons, play-offs and stings. They've backed featured artists including Rhonda Burchmore, Frank Bennett and Barry Crocker, and since 1991 have performed with James Belushi, Tom Jones, Jimmy Barnes, Kate Ceberano and James Morrison. The Sydney band's TV work includes the SBS Soccer Awards and Channel Ten's Monday to Friday.
