Carlitos Way

Eight musicians and Cuban salsa from the first bar: Carlitos Way are made for a dance floor that wants to move. Singer and percussionist Carlito comes from Cuba, where he studied percussion at conservatory, and he shares the front with Alessia, an Italian-born singer who also dances salsa. Behind them are keys, bass, timbales and congas, with saxophone and trumpet over the top. Timba is the heart of the repertoire, and they also turn well-known English and Italian songs into salsa, so guests who don't know Cuban music still hear something familiar. Weddings, events and dance school showcases are all on their list. They work from a full mic list covering every instrument, and can bring the sound system or plug into yours. Melbourne-based, they travel up to 50 km.
