Basil is a violinist based in Brisbane, QLD.
Basil plays acoustic violin over original piano backing tracks, and the set list goes wherever the day needs it. Pachelbel's Canon in D and Schubert's Ave Maria sit next to Vivaldi's Winter, a Bach aria and a prelude from a Bach suite. Then there's Piazzolla's Oblivion, Autumn Leaves, Cavatina, La Llorona, some Yann Tiersen, Hallelujah and What a Wonderful World. He also covers pop, rock, jazz, blues, soundtracks and Christian songs, and he'll learn something new for your occasion. In a small room or with a small crowd outdoors, the violin carries without amplification. For bigger spaces he brings an amp and speaker, and his PA comes with two handheld microphones. Weddings, private functions and festivals are all familiar ground. He travels up to 200 km.
