VelvetSol

VelvetSol builds a set out of soul, jazz and R&B, taking standards and more recent songs and reshaping them in that warm style. The project started in 2023 in nipaluna, lutruwita, better known to many as Hobart, and it's backed by local musicians from around the city. There's real feeling in the songs, which deal with heartache, love that isn't returned, and hope. It's music for a room that's paying attention, like a candlelit dinner or a late lounge set, rather than a loud dance floor.
