Motor City Sounds is a cover band based in Ballarat, VIC.
Three singers, three horns and a four-piece rhythm section: Motor City Sounds put ten musicians on stage to recreate classic soul from the 60s and 70s. The set list is Motown and soul the whole way, with Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Chain of Fools, Dancing in the Street, Celebration, ABC and Don't Leave Me This Way among the songs. Plan on dancing more than sitting. You can book one, two or three sets. They can bring full sound and lighting run by industry professionals, or scale it back for a smaller event, and they need a stage about 6 metres wide and 3 deep. Past gigs include White Night in Melbourne and Ballarat, Memo Music Hall in St Kilda, the Piano Bar in Geelong and Ballarat, the Moonambel Fireworks Festival and the FedUni Blue Tie Ball, plus a spot as warm-up band for ABC TV's Q&A. Based in Ballarat, insured, and they travel statewide.
