Velvet Edge is a jazz duo based in Adelaide, SA.
Sax and a smooth voice make Velvet Edge an easy duo to have in the room on a slow Sunday afternoon. Andrew plays saxophone and Mary-Jane sings, working through jazz standards like Night and Day, Bye Bye Blackbird, Corcovado and Summer Samba, then later songs such as Moondance, Don't Know Why and Smooth Operator. When it's time to dance, the set swings into rock 'n' roll: Rock Around the Clock, Let's Twist Again, See You Later Alligator. Guitar, bass and drums can join to make a five-piece. All they need is power. Adelaide-based, they cover up to 50 km.
