The Velvet Set is a band based in Sydney, NSW.

Start with an instrumental jazz trio of double bass, piano and saxophone while guests arrive, and The Velvet Set can build all the way to a choreographed eight or ten-piece swing show or a 19-piece big band. The Sydney band plays swing and crooner songs of the 1930s, 40s and 50s with male and female vocals, from Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin and Glenn Miller, plus neo-swing from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Brian Setzer Orchestra for the jivers. Singer Rose Grayson fronts the smaller vocal jazz line-ups. The band supplies PA and lighting for most venues, runs a vintage music DJ service and can add swing dancers and showgirls. Cocktail parties, product launches, weddings, themed nights and large corporate seminars are all familiar work. Past clients include Optus, BMW, KPMG, Westpac and the Royal Australian Mint, along with the Sydney Burlesque Ball and the opening of the Oxford Art Factory.
