The Stevedores

Hot Dixieland is the default setting for The Stevedores, lively enough to dance to. If the occasion is more formal, they'll swap to a quieter selection instead. This Perth band has played traditional Dixieland jazz since 1992, and the line-up stretches from four players to seven, depending on the space and the budget. Engagement parties, corporate functions, weddings and private parties have all been part of the job over the years, and they've taken the music out to country performances as well. For a garden party or a long lunch where people might get up and jig, that bouncy, old-time sound fits nicely.
