The Old Road Trio
About
The Old Road Trio is a jazz trio based in Perth, WA.
Trumpet, piano and double bass make up The Old Road Trio, and they play jazz standards of every stripe, from slow ballads to bossa nova. Reuben Christman is on trumpet, Hanna Kim plays piano and keyboard, and Max Jones holds down the bass. The list takes in Blue Bossa, Autumn Leaves and The Girl from Ipanema, a harder edge with So What and Straight No Chaser, and Misty, Summertime and My Funny Valentine for the quieter stretches. It's a sound for a cocktail party or a long dinner where the music should feel classy and a little daring. The Perth band formed in late 2018, needs no special set-up and travels nationwide.
