The Melody Makers

Jazz with a bit of a history lesson is one of the things The Melody Makers do well. The Perth trio runs presentations that trace jazz from its New Orleans and Chicago beginnings, taking in Sidney Bechet and Louis Armstrong, then on through swing, bebop, the cool school and finally rock jazz. There's also Jazz and a Joke, their variety show. For a birthday, a luncheon, a wedding or another function, they play well-known jazz tunes, with some talk and humour in between if the occasion suits. The trio brings a mobile keyboard, a small PA and everything else, and the one thing the venue has to provide is a power point. They travel up to 100 km.
