Switch Jazz is a jazz duo based in Ipswich, QLD.
Think a quiet Sunday at a winery with a glass in hand. That's the pace Switch Jazz play at, a relaxed, coffee-shop style of jazz that leaves plenty of room for talking. The Ipswich duo is a female singer with a player on saxophone and clarinet, backed by light custom backing tracks. The songbook is vocal standards: Goody Goody, All of Me, On the Sunny Side of the Street, Fly Me to the Moon, Ain't Misbehavin' and Love Me or Leave Me, plus cool Christmas tunes for the festive season and requests welcome. Both have played in small jazz groups and big bands. Their own sound gear suits small to medium rooms, so art shows, cafés and afternoon functions are a comfortable match. Power and a little light are all they ask for. Fully insured, the pair will go up to 100 km.
