Soultown

Eight musicians, a horn section and outfits styled on the era: Soultown bring a full soul revue to your stage. The show draws on Motown and the Stax and Atlantic catalogues, so you'll hear Otis Redding next to Marvin Gaye, The Temptations after Aretha, and plenty of Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Wilson Pickett and Martha and the Vandellas along the way. Floor fillers like Dancing in the Street, Rescue Me and Shake a Tail Feather do most of the work, with slower moments such as Let's Get It On. A lead singer and backing vocalists front the band, with keys, guitar, bass, drums and the horns behind them, and the players come from touring productions, theatre and other tribute shows. They supply their own sound and lighting. Much of their calendar is South-East Queensland work, from ticketed shows to company nights and private parties, but they travel Australia-wide, and clubs, pubs and festivals suit the show just as well.
