Slips & the F.W.'s

A washboard, a resonator guitar and a trumpet set the tone for Slips & the F.W.'s, short for the Flamin' Whippersnappers. They play traditional jazz, early blues and ragtime, the old New Orleans sound, for relaxed parties and company events alike. David Kume sings and plays resonator, with Cameron Smith on trumpet, Paul Edwards on sax and clarinet, Stevie Mac on keys, Bayden Micthell on upright bass and Brad Tabe on washboard. You can book them as a five or six-piece. Plan on three sets of 45 minutes as the starting point. Recorded music fills each break, and the band's own sound system handles a crowd of up to 200. Give them room for six players, 240V power and cover if it's outdoors, and they can arrange power if the site has none. The players come from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba, they travel up to 100 km, and they're insured.
