Shirazz

Hot jazz from the 1920s and 30s, played by six musicians who clearly love it. Shirazz are a Melbourne trad jazz and dixieland band, and a set feels like a New Orleans dance hall: quick numbers with hot solos, swinging standards and slower street-beat grooves, all in tight arrangements. They throw in the odd original and a few pop songs rebuilt in the old style. It's great for a Gatsby or Roaring Twenties theme, a birthday with a dance floor, or a wedding where the guests like their music with some swing. They play corporate events and venues as well.
