Paris Dreaming is a jazz duo based in Brisbane, QLD.
Accordion and acoustic guitar set the scene with Paris Dreaming, a Brisbane duo playing French gypsy swing that could have drifted out of a Paris cafe last century. Expect musette waltzes and gypsy jazz tunes, a few American swing standards, and melodic pieces they've written themselves, played with real fire and the odd flash of humour. It suits a long lunch, a cocktail hour or a dinner where the music should feel a little romantic without taking over. Ewan plays guitar in the Django Reinhardt style, studied with the Manouche guitarist Lollo Meier in Holland and is artistic director of the OzManouche Festival. Kay came to gypsy jazz accordion after years of bush dances and country socials out on the Darling Downs.
