OOMPA ROCKSTAR (German, Octoberfest, Polka Band)

Steins up, benches out. Oompa Rockstar is an Oktoberfest band in full costume, three to five players strong, with clarinet and sax, accordion, tuba, drums and a big lead voice. The set starts where you'd expect, with the Chicken Dance and the Beer Barrel Polka, then the joke kicks in: rock and pop hits turned into polkas. Katy Perry, Nirvana, Lady Gaga and Bon Jovi all get the oompah treatment, and yes, Pink Pony Club is on the list. Plan for games, audience participation and a fair bit of silliness. They've played corporate Oktoberfest parties along with clubs, pubs and private events, and breweries and festivals suit them too. A PA and lighting package can come with them. Sydney-based, travelling Australia-wide.
