Motown & Beyond is a Motown band based in Balmain, NSW.
Seven players and a stack of Motown and Stax soul make Motown & Beyond a dance band first. Expect My Girl, Superstition, Knock on Wood, What's Going On and Mustang Sally, with the list stretching into rock, blues and later hits like Pretty Woman, Roadhouse Blues, Play That Funky Music and Daddy Cool's Eagle Rock. The span is roughly 60s to 2000s, and requests are welcome. Book a single set or up to four sets of 45 minutes. For an outdoor show the band needs to be under cover, since heat and rain can damage the gear, and indoors the space should be clear of anything people could trip on. The band comes from Balmain, carries insurance and will go up to 100 km.
