Miss Mandy Swings is a jazz band based in Brisbane, QLD.
Jazzaret is Mandy Goullet's word for what she does, jazz and cabaret rolled together with swing and a few hot Latin numbers. Miss Mandy Swings puts her in front of a six-piece band. Musical director Jon Woodend plays sax. Ashley Higgins drums, Nick Woodend plays bass and Shane Calderbank sits at the piano, while Trevor Beyer on trombone and Shannon Marshall on trumpet fill out the horns. Mandy started in variety TV, then sang, danced and did acrobatics in Starz and Galaxies at Jupiters Casino. Lead roles in dinner shows followed, from Paradise Follies on the Gold Coast and Brisbane's Tivoli to Club Tropicana in Cairns and Japan's Za Za Club. On live television she's worked with musical directors John Foreman and Paul Grabowsky. It suits a themed night, a gala or a wedding. Brisbane-based.
