About

Melanie and The Madmen is a band based in Sunshine Coast, QLD.

Songs from the 1920s to the 1960s, sung with a lot of soul and presented with a matching vintage look: that's the Melanie and The Madmen show. The repertoire moves through jazz, swing, blues, wartime songs, the American songbook, R&B, musical theatre and soul, with the likes of At Last, Big Spender, A-Tisket, A-Tasket, Anything Goes and All That Jazz. Requests are welcome. The line-up is unusually flexible, from a solo singer or a duo with guitar or keys, up through trio, quartet and a quintet with trumpet or sax, to an eight-piece with horns and a 12-piece big band. Small rooms and theatres both suit them. They need power and a covered area, carry public liability and performers insurance, and have a full police check available. Home base is the Sunshine Coast, with a 100 km radius.
