KGB is a big band based in Nuriootpa, SA.
Eighteen musicians plus vocalists: KGB Big Band is a full swing dance band, and it has been filling floors across South Australia since 1998. The repertoire reaches well past swing. Latin numbers like Black Magic Woman, A Night in Tunisia and Girl From Ipanema, funk such as September and Superstition, ballads including Moonlight Serenade, and pop and rock from All Shook Up to Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Motown, disco and standards turn up too. Weddings, corporate functions and birthdays are the usual bookings. A band this size needs planning, so allow a stage at least 4 by 8 metres, two 240V power points, five armless chairs, a separate warm-up and break area and parking close by. Setting up takes an hour, packing down 45 minutes. Based in Nuriootpa, they travel statewide and are covered by public liability insurance.
