Karina Di Fabio covers the jazz standards, and she can also sing in French, Italian, Spanish, Latin and Hebrew, or switch to an opera style when the moment calls for it. That helps at a wedding where the guests come from several backgrounds. Book her alone over backing tracks, or pair her with a pianist, and a flautist, cellist or jazz drummer can join too. You may know the voice already, from more than 350 commercials on radio and television, some aired as far off as Singapore, New Zealand and the USA. Writing is the other half of her career. BMG Music had her under a songwriting contract between 1992 and 1994. A 2003 win in the First Cuts competition earned national Triple J airplay, and two years later her original ARISE picked up a pair of awards in Canberra, one for jazz/fusion and one for gospel.
