Juliana Areias is a jazz band based in Perth, WA.
Bossa nova, samba and a lot more besides: Juliana Areias brings Brazilian music to Perth events, drawing on upwards of 500 songs. Alongside traditional and contemporary Brazilian material there's jazz, pop rock and the Beatles, plus songs in French, Spanish and Italian, every one of them given that Brazilian lilt. The band can be two, three, four or five players. She has sung at the Montreux Jazz Festival, and at the Auckland Festival too, and she worked as a Brazilian music expert for the University of Auckland. Around Perth she's played Sculpture by the Sea at Cottesloe, the Fremantle Festival, the Chilli Festival, Sunset @ Subi and the City of Perth Concert Series, and corporate clients include Flight Centre. Weddings, birthdays, festivals and concerts all suit.
