Gold Coast City Brass Band

Put the Gold Coast City Brass Band on a patch of grass or up on a stage and the result is the same: a full brass band in the open air, playing modern pieces next to the traditional ones. Space to set up is the only thing they ask for. The band has served the Gold Coast since 1902, and it runs as a volunteer, community-based, not-for-profit group, so the players are there because they love it. That long local history makes them a good match for a civic ceremony, a street parade or a community day where a marching sound belongs. They also play as a smaller classical ensemble. The band's hall is in Southport. Bookings up to 300 km away are fine, and there's public liability cover in the band's own name, with a certificate on request.
