Gatsby Jazz is a band based in Brisbane, QLD.
Violin, accordion, gypsy jazz guitar and songs sung in French. Gatsby Jazz is a Brisbane quartet playing the sound of a 1920s French café, with gypsy jazz, bal-musette and chanson at its core and a bit of New Orleans swing mixed through. The feel is nostalgic and it swings, so it sits nicely under a cocktail party, drifting around the edges of the conversation. The group takes its cues from Edith Piaf, Josephine Baker and Django Reinhardt. They play weddings, special occasions, corporate functions and private parties.
