Funkatonic

Funkatonic play jazz funk with the heat turned up. There are six of them, all devoted to the soul jazz grooves of the 60s and 70s, and the set switches between energetic tunes and smoother ones, drawing on The Crusaders, James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Average White Band, Freddie Hubbard and The Meters. Book two hours and you get two 45-minute sets; three hours brings three. A full PA and lighting rig is available from the band. The whole aim is to get people feeling good, which works as well over cocktails as it does in a bar with room to dance. Brisbane is home. They carry public liability insurance and will travel 50 km for a gig.
