Dean

Dean's talks are aimed at upper primary and high school students, and they deal with the practical side of growing up. He spent 40 years as a teacher and co-wrote the book Being a Successful Teenager with Steve Wright, built around skills school doesn't usually teach. Topics include goal setting, attitude, fitness, values, handling money, finding time for what matters, community service, team sport and dealing with the 'oldies' at home. He uses personal stories to get students thinking, drawing on a varied life: WAFL football, representing his state in Masters football, coaching junior teams, running an international business and working as a national sales manager. He has spoken on goal setting and success in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. For a big assembly he'll need a PA. Police and Working With Children clearances are both in place, and Dean travels up to 200 km from Perth.
