Chris Poulsen

The Chris Poulsen Trio is an instrumental jazz group, three players who pull funk, fusion, Latin and bebop together into music with plenty of colour and shifting texture. Much of the interest is in the writing, which takes some unexpected turns, and they play it with real energy on stage. The Brisbane group has built a large following for that original sound. Because nobody's singing over the top, the music can sit under a cocktail function while guests talk, and still reward anyone who stops to listen. Weddings, corporate events and venue bookings are all part of their work.
