Fire eating from the clarinettist is just one of the tricks in this Sydney gypsy burlesque show. Four musicians in full costume mix music with dance, circus skills and character play, and the audience gets pulled in as part of it. The clarinettist also does fire fakir work and fire twirling. The showgirl dances with feather fans and belly dance routines, then slips behind the drums. The violinist wanders through the crowd, playing to guests up close, while the piano accordionist drives the band. Musically it travels from a Parisian cafe to a tango hall to a Cairo nightclub, with pieces like Misirlou, Brahms' Hungarian Dance and the tango Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
