blue JazZoo is a jazz band based in Gold Coast, QLD.
Dressed for the Great Gatsby era, Brent Doust and Andi Gallaher play old songs as if they were new and new songs as if they were old. One minute it's Tuxedo Junction or Fly Me to the Moon, the next it's Back to Black or Addicted to You, all bent into their quirky mix of jazz and blues. As a duo they swap between piano, archtop guitar and percussion while sharing lead and harmony vocals, and the trio adds drums. The percussion kit is part of the fun, with a foot stomp, a guiro, a kazoo and a melodica. Expect Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Sinatra and Glenn Miller alongside Adele, Prince and Billy Joel. That jumping between eras suits a cocktail party or a themed dinner. They bring professional sound and lighting, hold public liability insurance and travel up to 200 km from the Gold Coast.
