Bede Prince

A good jazz group needs a double bass holding it together, and that's Bede Prince's job. He's based in Meanjin, or Brisbane, and studied at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, where James Sandon, Steve Newcomb and Peter Walters were among his teachers. He's a busy player around Brisbane and wider Queensland, and has performed alongside James Morrison, Darren Percival, John Hoffman and Steve Newcomb. You'll find him at DooBop Jazz Bar, JMI Live and the jazz clubs in Brisbane and Toowoomba. For a cocktail party or dinner with a jazz trio, he's the sort of player who keeps it swinging.
