Avalon Swing is a swing band based in Brisbane, QLD.

Picture a Paris cafe with a dance floor squeezed in, and you're close to what Avalon Swing play. It's acoustic swing built on guitars: rhythm guitar under the vocals, fingerstyle and improvised lead lines on top, and a double bass pushing it along. Songs come from the American Songbook and French cafe music, so La Vie en Rose and C'est Si Bon (sung in English and French) sit next to It's Only a Paper Moon, Dream a Little Dream of Me and Here Comes the Sun, with gypsy jazz instrumentals in the style of Django Reinhardt. You can book solo fingerstyle guitar, a duo, trio or quartet, or a five-piece that adds an electronic wind instrument. The duo can run off two small battery amps where power is scarce. They've played venues and festivals in Australia and New Zealand, are insured, and cover Brisbane and up to 50 km out.
