Atete's Hawaiian and Polynesian Shows

The fire finale is the part people remember. A war dance lit with fire, played out to live island drumming, closes a night that starts far more gently. Guests are welcomed with South Pacific songs, then Atete sings traditional Hawaiian songs and her own originals on ukulele. Two or three Polynesian dancers follow, including Elvis-style hula routines, and the audience gets a hula lesson before tribal drums set up a friendly dance contest for couples. It's built for themed nights and cultural galas, and a lei greeter or dinner music can cover the arrival. Atete trained in Polynesian dance in Papeete, Tahiti, and also writes Hawaiian and country music. The dancers perform barefoot, so they need a smooth, level floor, grass or sand, plus a green room with a mirror and cover in case of rain. Based in Maroochydore, the show travels nationwide.
