Ali Pickup

Aerial hoop is Ali Pickup's speciality, and a routine from her mixes bendy shapes, fast spins and some serious strength. She trained as a dancer before taking up aerial arts in 2015, then started performing professionally with Circus Avalon in 2018. These days she's freelance, and she's toured widely around Australia, with spots in cabarets such as After Dark Burlesque, OMGWTF and Candyland. For a smaller act she can bring her own freestanding rig. It needs a ceiling at least 4 metres high, a 4 by 4 metre patch of floor and two to four people to help put it up. Bigger shows mean rigging from the ceiling or a truss, done by a professional rigger. She'll talk through your event and shape the show to suit. Newcastle is home, she'll travel anywhere in the country, and she's covered for both public liability and professional indemnity.
