Adam Hall The Velvet Playboys

Trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano: Adam Hall plays all of them and more, and he sings too. With The Velvet Playboys behind him, that means boogie woogie, swing and rhythm and blues straight out of the 1950s, with the band's own songs sitting among classics and some newer material. It's music made for a retro party or any crowd that wants to dance. Adam studied at Boston's Berklee College of Music, then formed the band in 2005. Their records include It's You It's Me, I've Got News for You and When It's Party Time Down South. An Australian tour alongside saxophonist Big Jay McNeely is among their credits, as are shows with Betty Harris and Syl Johnson. Beyond the band, Adam has performed at the Sydney Olympics, spent time in Singapore on an artist residency, and toured Europe, the US and Asia.
