1940s Singing Group is a band based in Sydney, NSW.
Anzac Day and Remembrance Day are where the 1940s Singing Group feels most at home. The Sydney group has sung the music of the Second World War era since 2013, and singing for veterans is the part of the work they care about most. There are five of them: three women and a man singing in close harmony, with a pianist accompanying. The songs are the sweet, sentimental ones of the wartime years, gentle enough to stir memories and lively enough to coax a few couples onto the floor. Beyond commemorations, they sing at vintage-themed parties, festivals, airshows, private functions and special occasions.
