YOK is a musical duo based in Sydney, NSW.
Brothers Charlie and Mitchell named YOK after their dad, the one who got them into music. It's two acoustic guitars, but a looper and effects let them add bass, lead lines and percussion as they go, so one song can have the room jumping and the next can drop back to a slow sway. The set list is rock and pop from past decades and now: Mr Brightside, Riptide, Better Be Home Soon, Everlong, Watermelon Sugar, No Scrubs, Chemical Heart, Tainted Love, Teenage Dirtbag and Save Tonight among them. A standard booking is three sets over three hours, and the PA and lights are theirs. It suits a party or bar night in Sydney where a duo needs to sound bigger than two people. They travel up to 50 km.
