About
Valentine's Tonic is a musical duo based in Hobart, TAS.
Two 45-minute sets is the usual shape of a Valentine's Tonic booking, though the Hobart duo can stretch to four sets or switch to hour-long ones. Vocals are Sonia Valentine's job, and the acoustic guitarist is either Jack Delaney or Peter Hope. Most songs are just guitar and voice, and about a third add a backing track. They'll pitch it chill or up-tempo, covering the 60s through to now: Moondance, Rhiannon, Feelin' Good, Horse With No Name, Free Fallin', Weather with You, Shallow and Closing Time among them, with a few requests taken on the night. A power point is all they need. If you want their PA and lights, or music between sets, allow 20 minutes to set up. They're used to weddings, private parties, licensed venues and community events, and they stay within about 50 km of Hobart.
