Val Gray is a guitarist and singer who reads what a crowd wants and plays it. The set runs through blues, classic rock and acoustic favourites: Little Wing, Moondance, Under the Milky Way, How to Make Gravy, Hard to Handle, Wild World and Georgia on My Mind, with some Gershwin and Pearl Jam in there too. Triple J has played some of the songs he's written himself. He's gigged along the east coast for years, and his collaborators include Dave Gleeson, Iva Davies and Alex Lloyd. His gear is top quality, and all he asks for is easy access to power, a comfortable chair without armrests and some drinking water. Based on Tamborine Mountain, he'll travel up to 100 km.
