Tyra Bankstown

Tyra Bankstown has spent more than 20 years on stage as a drag performer and host, and she brings a big, warm presence into any room she walks into. She calls herself a Mangarayi queen and jokes that she's one of Sydney's most dangerous landmarks. Her record at LGBTIQ+ events is long. She has performed at or hosted Poof Doof, Heaps Gay, Tropical Fruits, Yabun, WorldPride and Sydney Festival, among others. In March 2022 the Star Observer put her on its cover and named her the Mother of Drags, recognising the work she does giving back to her community.
