Trio MRJ is a musical trio based in Hobart, TAS.
Gypsy jazz sung in three languages is what sets Trio MRJ apart. Mess, the French vocalist, switches between French, Spanish and English from song to song. Javier's guitar carries the gypsy fire along with plenty of jazz melody, and Javier, originally from Chile, has lived in Hobart for a decade. Rick, a Hobart bassist, holds a deep, soulful groove underneath it all. The sound is intimate and warm. Picture it at a long dinner, a gallery opening or a wedding where guests will enjoy hearing a song sung in French.
